The D45 is identical in features and capabilities to the current model D40 IP telephone, but is also capable of gigabit connectivity to its LAN port and gigabit pass-through to its PC port.

Digium phones are the only phones tightly integrated with Asterisk, and Asterisk-based phone systems like Switchvox. No other phones on the market offer the advanced Digium feature set. In addition to plug-and-play deployment, all models of D-series IP phones include the Digium Phone App Engine which allows the phones to run built-in and custom designed JavaScript applications to enhance user productivity. Apps like interactive voicemail, visual call parking, one-touch call recording, searchable contact directory and presence management take advantage of the unique rich data connection between Digium phones and Asterisk.

D45 phones are available only with Icon keys; English-text keys are not available for model D45 phones.  The D45 is identical in appearance to the model D40 Icon-key phones except for the model number on the label.

Model D45 phones are compatible with Switchvox 5.8.2 and use a 1.4.1 version of firmware.  DPMA users should use DPMA 2.0 or greater.  XML-configuration users will find updated XML configuration information on the Digium phones section of the Asterisk wiki
